A novel idea!

We love to involve our customers and so it is with great delight to introduce to you local author and MINI enthusiast, Lynne Langley! Lynne, a loyal customer of Derek Woodman has recently written her first book, ‘The Ups and Down of Middle Age’ which was published on the 8th February 2010. The book began with Lynne writing down a few recipes to give to her children and as memories were triggered, the book developed into what it is today.

Lynne is already writing her second book which is “totally different” to her first, although she does have every intention of writing a follow-up.

When we asked Lynne about her MINI she replied, “I absolutely adore my MINI Cooper; it is my pride and joy. I have had it 3 and a half years and it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. It is mentioned no less than three times in my book with love and affection.” The team here at Derek Woodman are certainly looking forward to reading it!

Synopsis
The Ups and Downs of Middle Age is the author’s often humorous experiences and reflections of life. In her eyes she sees herself as fairly typical, with a loving partner and grown up children.

She observes the comical differences between men and women which are more prominent at middle age with an admirable acceptance on both sides. The emotional roller coaster and hormones are talked about with sections on true love, stress, romance and insomnia. Also, the physical and visible signs of aging are covered in a light hearted way and, how to get the best from what we have.

There are sections on weight control and healthy eating whilst saving on fuel bills and wastage. Recipes and exercises are included. Promoting a more relaxed lifestyle and slowing down the pace of life whilst being stretched in all directions is a priority.
